President Biden’s helicopter is spotted circling over central London in mystery flight after Joe and Boris met for the first time with their wives Carrie and Jill

Joe Biden‘s helicopter has been spotted flying through London as the US President prepares for the G7 summit across the country in Cornwall.

The aircraft was seen over the capital while Mr Biden and his wife Jill met with Boris and Carrie Johnson in Carbis Bay.

A map showing the route taken by the RAF Puma Warlock, which is part of the same flight as the US Marine Corps chopper, reveals they circled from around Heathrow Airport through Slough, Berkshire.

Social media users posted they had spotted ‘Marine One’ flying overhead in south east England today – though that name is traditionally reserved for when the President is aboard.

President Biden will be flying to Windsor on Sunday on Marine One, which likely explains the aircraft’s presence today.

It could be repositioning to RAF Mildenhall or practising the route it will take collecting Mr Biden from Heathrow and taking him to Windsor Castle, or Brussels – where he is set to visit after meeting the Queen.

The President had left Washington on June 9 and arrived at Royal Air Force Mildenhall, where he met with U.S. Air Force personnel stationed there.

Today he met Prime Minister Boris Johnson in Cornwall, site of the G7 summit, and will work throughout the week on advancing the United States’ policy priorities.

In official photos issues by Number 10, the Prime Minister’s wife Carrie Johnson was seen holding baby Wilfred today – as the newlywed made her debut onto the world stage.

But the cheery appearances came in spite of a row over Brexit today, as the White House tried to put out the flames of a major transatlantic bust-up.

Brexiteer Tories had branded the 78-year-old Democrat ‘senile’ after he failed to side with the UK in its ‘sausage war’ bust-up with the EU, and the US President used his diplomats to express ‘great concern’ over the conflict.

But amid the tensions Mrs Johnson, a mother of one, seemed a natural counterpart to the US First Lady, as the pair were pictured smiling together in good spirits ahead of tomorrow’s crucial G7 summit.

The event marks the first major engagement for Boris and Carrie since they married in a secret wedding ceremony last month.

This year’s summit comes as the US is said to have issued a ‘demarche’ to Britain, an official diplomatic censure not normally used against allies, especially those as close as the two nations.

Crunch talks between Britain and Brussels over sausage imports have failed to make a breakthrough and European Commission vice-president Maros Sefcovic threatened to retaliate if Britain takes unilateral action to continue the flow of British-produced chilled meats to Northern Ireland.
