To make the pies for yourself, you’ll need to get your hands on eight apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, eggs and puff pastry.

‘Peel and cube your apples and put them in a pot with 30mL of water,’ Megan said.

Then, add a teaspoon of cinnamon, half a teaspoon of nutmeg and eight tablespoons of brown sugar to your mix.

Once this is done, simply mix everything together until ‘all of the apples are covered in the seasoning’, and then cook it on a medium heat for 25 minutes.

‘Keep cooking the mixture until the apples cook and the liquid thickens,’ Megan said.

‘This is how it should look,’ she added, showcasing a thick, warmed apple mixture at the end.

Eight tablespoons of brown sugar

One teaspoon of cinnamon

Half a teaspoon of nutmeg

30mL of water

Two sheets of puff pastry, quartered

One egg

Splash of milk

METHOD

1. Peel and cube your apples and put them in a pot with 30mL of water.

2. Add a teaspoon of cinnamon, half a teaspoon of nutmeg and eight tablespoons of brown sugar to your mix and mix it all together so all of the apples are coated in the seasoning.

3. Cook it on a medium heat until the mixture thickens and the apples are fully cooked.

4. Remove the apples form the heat and let the mixture cool.

5. In the meantime, make your egg wash mix from one egg and a bit of milk mixed together in a bowl.

6. Using puff pastry, cut it into quarters and add a tablespoon of the apple mix to each quarter.

7. Seal off the pies with egg wash slathered over the corners of the pies and use a fork to fold them down at the edges.

8. Score the top with a knife and add egg wash to the entire pie.

9. Bake the parcels in the oven for 16 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius, or until they are ‘golden brown’.

10. Serve hot with ice cream or cream.

Next, remove the apples from the heat and let the mixture cool while you make your egg wash mix, made from one egg and a bit of milk ‘mixed together’.

‘Using puff pastry, cut it into quarters and add a tablespoon of the filling,’ Megan said.

Then, seal off the pies with egg wash slathered over the corners of the pies and use a fork to fold them down at the edges.

‘It’s optional, but I like to score the top,’ Megan said. ‘Finally, add egg wash to the whole parcel.’

Once this is done, all you need to do is bake the parcels in the oven for 16 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius, or until they are ‘golden brown’.

‘Trust me, they are so f**king good, yum!’ she concluded.
