A super organised mum has shared her genius way of keeping on top of household chores – by sticking Post-it Notes to the things she needs to clean.

Emma Roberts, 34, from Birmingham, took to TikTok to share a simple trick which makes working your way through tasks a lot more satisfying.

The PR manager, who goes by The Organised Mum and has racked up more than 89,000 likes on her handy videos, shared her hack of adding post-it notes to help ‘motivate’ people to clean, saying it works much better than a long to-do list.

Social media users flocked to the comments to praise her smart tip, but a couple joked they would get fed up and end up just binning the bits of paper.

In the video, Emma explained her reasoning behind sticking bits of paper around the house.

She said: ‘I wanted to share a hack with you to help you keep motivated when cleaning.

‘Instead of a to-do list, write jobs down on Post-it notes, then stick them in the places that need cleaning/organising.’

Emma panned the camera around her kitchen which had bright pink Post-it notes stuck to places where she needed to focus her attention.

She joked that her house would then be 'covered' in bits of paper, but that finishing a task and getting to take them off was rewarding

Some of her tasks included ’empty the dishwasher’ and ‘clean microwave’ and she added the paper to the appliances.

‘Refill teabags’ was also on Emma’s list of chores, and she filmed herself restocking the canister and removing the note.

Emma added: ‘When you’ve done what you needed to do, get rid of the Post-it, it’s so satisfying I promise you’.

The tip left many people impressed as one wrote: ‘I need to try this now’ and another joked: ‘BRB ordering Post-its’.

Some joked the method was not for them, as one said: ‘Trouble is I have no motivation to write on the post it let alone do any cleaning.’

Emma has shared more clever hacks on her TikTok page, including a handy way to make sure you never forget face coverings.

She shared a clip of her using metal adhesive hooks, which she placed inside the sun visor of her car.

Keeping them out of the way and in a handy area, she popped her disposable masks on the hooks and closed the visor to keep them in one place.

Emma also shares tips on how to keep areas tidy within her home, and shows off her handy organising hacks.

In a video of her laundry room, she revealed she decants her washing machine capsules and laundry cleaner into bottles and jars to free up space.

In her kitchen, she uses a small set of drawers under the sink that keeps her washing cloths and bin bags all neatly stored.

But her organising doesn’t just stop at tidying her home, she even lends her skills to organising birthday cards.

Emma keeps them contained in a handy folder with separate sections for each month, as well as a checklist on the front to make sure she never forgets an occasion.
