Police have launched an urgent search for two missing teenage boys after pair vanished on a Bank Holiday night out.

Lewis Ashdown, 19, and Marc Williams, 18, went to Maresfield Recreation Ground in Uckfield, East Sussex, on Saturday evening where it is thought they met up before later going their separate ways.

Marc called his family at around 11.30pm to let them know he was on his way home but never returned.

Lewis was last seen in Crowborough around 11am on Sunday morning but he has not returned home since.

Officers are now carrying out house-to-house enquiries, CCTV checks and local area searches as they work to establish their movements.

Marc is white, 5ft 10ins, of slim build and with short blond hair. He was wearing a black T-shirt, trousers, walking trainers and carrying a black backpack.

It is believed he may have had a hoodie attached to his backpack and a green mountain bike with him.

Lewis is described as 5ft 8ins, with short brown hair and glasses.

Chief Superintendent Nick May said last night: ‘It has been nearly 36 hours since we have confirmed sightings of either of these two young men and we are increasingly concerned for their welfare.
