Three teenagers arrested when driver, 16, allegedly punches and headbutts police officer after smashing into three cars outside popular Sydney nightclub

Three teenagers have been arrested after the car they were travelling in allegedly crashed into three other vehicles and the driver allegedly punched a police officer.

Police spotted the stolen Mazda CX-5 station wagon allegedly making an illegal turn onto the Pacific Highway outside the Crows Nest Hotel, in Sydney’s north shore on Friday night.

Officers activated warning lights intending to speak with the driver, 16, but the car allegedly veered sharply across two lanes, colliding with a taxi, before crashing into two parked cars.

All vehicles sustained significant damage, but the taxi driver escaped injury. 

The driver, a 16-year-old boy, allegedly punched and headbutted an officer before being arrested. 

Two girls, both aged 17, were also arrested at the scene, and were taken to Chatswood Police Station along with the boy. 

The Mazda had been reported stolen on Friday from a home in Lindfield. 

The boy was charged with assault as well as a slew of driving offences. He was refused bail and will appear at Parramatta Children’s Court on Sunday. 

The first girl was charged with travelling in the stolen car and breach of bail conditions. She was refused bail and will appear tomorrow at Parramatta Children’s Court.

The second was charged with be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner. She was given conditional bail and will appear at Surry Hills Children’s Court on Tuesday.
