A water-loving dog has come up with a novel way to get out of its owner’s swimming pool.
Footage, shared by Illinois ‘Jack Russell mama’ Melissa Sims, shows her terrier doggy-paddling across the pool.
The little dog, called Baby Girl, hops into the pool’s skimmer basket and pops out of the filter on the side.
Baby Girl then leaps up onto the ledge around the top of the pool and onto the deck in the backyard of their home in Johnston City.

Ms Sims, who also describes herself as a class action attorney, uploaded the footage onto her TikTok account for Baby Girl’s growing legion of fans.
Her videos of Baby Girl attract tens of thousands of views.
However, some viewers have expressed concern at footage showing the little dog leaping from the side of pool onto pebbles below.

One suggested putting a mat down so Baby Girl did not hurt her feet.
Ms Sims said: ‘She gets out of the pool using the skimmer basket as a doggie door and walks the rim until she gets in the deck to shake.
‘I told her not to jump on the rocks because her fans didn’t like it.’
