Met Police officer, 47, is set to stand trial charged with sexually assaulting a woman at a Wembley hotel while on duty

  • PC Rudvelle Walters, 47, allegedly sexually assaulted the woman at a hotel 
  • Allegedly took place at hotel in Wembley, London, at 6am on February 5 2019 
  • He is set to appear for trial at Southwark Crown Court on Monday, 21 June

A Metropolitan Police Officer is to appear on trial after being charged with sexually assaulting a woman at a hotel whilst on duty.  

PC Rudvelle Walters, 47, allegedly sexually assaulted the woman at a hotel on the High Road in Wembley, London, at around 6am on February 5 2019.

The officer, who was attached to the North West Command Unit, is set to appear for trial at Southwark Crown Court on Monday, 21 June.

PC Walters has since been suspended from the role.

An additional charge against PC Walters of attempted sexual assault relating to the same incident was discontinued. 

The Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards was informed and the officer arrested on 5 February 2019.

The Met made a mandatory referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) who carried out an investigation.

PC Walters was formally charged on Tuesday 19 May.

He was initially placed on restricted duties and was subsequently suspended from duty.
