A home cook has shown off her recipe for ‘cheater’s tiramisu’

First the woman pours her thickened cream into a bowl before adding a spoon full of icing sugar.

She then whips the cream and sugar mixture into soft peaks before turning her attention to the biscuits and coffee.

To make the coffee she puts a tea spoon of instant coffee in the bottom of a mug and adds half a cup of hot water.

She then dips her chocolate biscuits into the coffee, holding them for about 20 seconds so they can soak up the liquid.

She then layers the chocolate biscuits on the bottom of a plastic container, using six in total.

Once the bottom of the container is covered with the coffee-soaked biscuits she adds a thick layer of the sweet whipped cream.

How can I make cheater’s tiramisu at home?

INGREDIENTS

Icing sugar

Instant coffee

Chocolate biscuits

Thickened cream

METHOD

First, mix together a jar of thickened cream with a teaspoon of icing sugar.

Beat until the cream has been whipped into soft peaks.

Then make the instant coffee, using one teaspoon of coffee to half a cup of water. This can be swapped for chocolate powder if preferred.

Then dip the chocolate biscuits into the coffee mixture until soggy.

Layer them on the bottom of a dish then spoon a generous layer of cream over the top.

Then repeat the process by layering more biscuits and cream until you have reached the top of the container.

Sprinkle some of the chocolate biscuit (not soaked) on the top and place in the fridge to set.

She then repeats the process, with a layer of biscuits and a layer of cream, until she reaches the top of the container.

The home cook then crunches some dry chocolate ripple biscuits on top of the dessert before placing it into the fridge to set.

Another woman said she adds crushed Maltesers in the cream and uses Baileys Irish Cream instead of coffee.

While most people thanked her for the recipe some appeared more focused on the plastic container she used.

‘Careful Gen Z will come at you for not caring about the environment,’ one woman said.

‘They already did. Open their big mouths not realising I have reused this container so many times,’ the home cook said.

‘Please don’t use throw away plastic,’ one mum said – adding she would still like to try the recipe.
