CHIPOTLE READY TO SIZZLE 

CHIPOTLE (Newbury, 3.40) proved too hot to handle at Royal Ascot and is taken to leave his rivals gasping in Saturday’s Weatherbys Super Sprint.

The bookmakers have taken few chances on Eve Johnson Houghton’s talented juvenile with his Windsor Castle Stakes performance fresh in the mind.

Dissecting that performance, it’s easy to understand why Chipotle dominates the head of the market, as he overcame a sluggish start to produce a display of real quality at Ascot.

The sectional time over the final three furlongs explains why he ran away from his rivals on the far side of the track.

That speed suggests he is an above average juvenile, especially on fast ground. Hopefully, conditions will play to Chipotle’s strengths today and, if he can reproduce the same level of performance as at Ascot, he will take a good deal of beating.

Main market rival Vintage Clarets represents a stable that has won three of the last 10 runnings of this event.

Their representative excelled at Ascot in the Coventry Stakes.

However, that race is yet to throw up a winner from nine attempts whereas the Windsor Castle has at least produced a winner and a couple of close misses.
